Today has been a day.
Sister is growing sick, and I also bear the signs of encroaching illness. Nevertheless, I am DETERMINED to complete all the tasks set to me, even if I must stay up all night in order to complete them.
Perhaps some play with markers and soft pastels may follow afterwards if I've been good.
I'm looking forward to the next assignment in my Pen and Ink class; three full pages in our own style, anything we want as long as there is a story with a beginning, middle, and end.
It could even be part of a bigger story, just as long as we have three pages finished. Totally.
Today I bought a brand new pot of undiluted ink.
That may not sound like much of a triumph, but I've been scroogily trying to eke out the last little bits of usefulness out of a pot that keeps drying up, and it's been taking
forever just to get the right consistency of ink after mixing the dried parts with water.
It's been driving me crazy, but sheer assinine stubbornness demanded that I continue doing something so stupid when simply BUYING A NEW BOTTLE OF INK would solve all my anxiety. So this marks a return to sanity and a little less self-punishment.
Also, I'm building a creature for the maquette class that resembles a mix between a camel and a lizard. 'Packerlizzyraptorbird-y thing. It's supposed to be in a contraposto action pose, so I chose to make it rear up and do all sorts of twisty things with its backbone.
...I really don't want to cover it up with Sculpey yet.
The original twisted metal skeleton has so much more character than what I eventually end up with after the sculpting process begins.
Oh well. I'll just take pictures.
